China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) sealed more than $13 billion in agreements during the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai, marking a new record for the State-owned energy giant at the annual trade fair.

The agreements, announced during the expo, encompass a wide range of products and services, including crude oil, natural gas, deepwater oil and gas equipment, and advanced technical services, it said.

CNOOC Chairman Zhang Chuanjiang said the company will deepen multilateral cooperations and jointly build a safe and efficient oil and gas supply system, injecting more certainty and stability into international energy security.

Since the inaugural CIIE in 2018, CNOOC has accumulated over $89 billion in signed contracts and agreements with more than 100 global suppliers from over 30 countries and regions.

Over this period, it has facilitated the trade of more than 900 million metric tons of crude oil and imported over 220 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG), accounting for 43 percent of China's total LNG imports.
