National Ballet of China debuts modern twist on Le Corsaire

The National Ballet of China unveiled its new version of the ballet Le Corsaire on Saturday at the Tianqiao Theatre in Beijing. This fresh adaptation adds a modern twist to the 170-year-old classic, marking the latest rendition by the ballet troupe.
For over a century, Le Corsaire, a heroic epic filled with passion, freedom, and dramatic tension, has inspired generations of ballet artists. Since its introduction to China in 1959 by master Pyotr Andreyevich Gusev, it has become a significant milestone in the history of Chinese ballet, celebrated for its distinctive romanticism and exceptional choreographic expression.
