Specialty agricultural products from Dahua Yao autonomous county, Guangxi, are making their way to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, fueled by the robust Guangxi-Guangdong regional cooperation mechanism.

Blessed with a unique karst ecosystem, Dahua produces premium local goods such as Qibainong chicken, freshwater fish, and seasonal tubers.

These once underrated treasures have broken through market access barriers, now reaching Greater Bay Area consumers smoothly via optimized supply chains.

Collaboration has laid a solid foundation for this growth. Dedicated direct supply bases and shared cold-chain facilities have been set up, slashing logistics costs and preserving product freshness.

More than 50 local operators have joined the "832 Platform" – a national initiative supporting poverty-alleviation product sales – and listed 870 items. Notably, Greater Bay Area sales account for over 93 percent of their total online transactions.

Brand building has further strengthened Dahua's market presence. Six of its products, including salt-baked Qibainong chicken and sweet potatoes, have obtained the "Zhenpin" or "Shenzhen quality food" certification, a well-recognized quality label in the Greater Bay Area that unlocks opportunities in high-end markets. On-site live-streaming events have also boosted product visibility and consumer trust.

The results are striking. By 2025, Dahua's agricultural exports to the Greater Bay Area hit 113 million yuan ($15.7 million), benefiting 12,000 local households. This win-win model not only diversifies the Greater Bay Area's food supply but also injects sustainable momentum into rural vitalization in Dahua.
