China to work with peace-loving countries against Japan's militarism

China vowed on Friday to work with all peace-loving countries to contain Japan's dangerous moves of reviving militarism or creating a new type of militarism.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian made the remarks after Japan's Cabinet on Friday approved a record defense budget plan exceeding 9 trillion yen ($58 billion) for the coming fiscal year.

The drastic increase of Japan's defense budget further exposes Japanese right-wing forces' malicious intention of promoting "re-militarization" and reviving militarism, Lin said.

Since taking office, the new administration of Japan has been notably accelerating the steps of military buildup and expansion, he told a daily news conference.

From the erroneous remarks on China's Taiwan region and the threat of force to China made by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to remarks of senior official about possessing nuclear weapons, Japan is leaving the path of peaceful development and straying further away towards a dangerous direction, Lin said.

The moves of Japanese right-wing forces to promote "re-militarization" and breach the postwar international order as well as Japan's Constitution have raised high alert from the international community, he said, adding that the Japanese people are also victims of militarism.
