The Huizhou route is seen as a cultural and tourism corridor that integrates the history and legacy of renowned Chinese poet Su Dongpo, also known as Su Shi, from the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

Also on Sunday, a marathon event was held in Meizhou in Guangdong's eastern mountains, an area widely known for its Hakka culture.
