Exhibition highlights artists' vivid devotion to colors
While the Centre Pompidou in Paris is closed until 2030 for major renovations, it is touring its collections around the world, including an upcoming exhibition in Beijing.
Colors!, an exhibition devoted to modernism through the lens of masters of color, will be unveiled at the Beijing Minsheng Art Museum on Jan 24, featuring great works of the 20th century from Centre Pompidou's collection.
Over 100 works will be on display, including paintings by Pablo Picasso, Amedeo Modigliani, Henri Matisse, and Wassily Kandinsky, among others, whose renovated treatment of shade and light will usher audiences into a veritable sensory journey.
There will also be a juxtaposition of works by Chinese contemporary artists to display cultural exchanges between the East and West since the 20th century.
