The Qingsong hydrogen-powered sightseeing train began trial operations on Jan 31 at Beishan Park in Jilin city, Northeast China's Jilin province, running at a speed of about 10 kilometers per hour.

The project uses a 3-km section of the Jihai Railway Heritage Park. The train was manufactured by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co and integrates hydrogen energy technology with the park's famous rime ice scenery. Passenger trial operations are planned during the Spring Festival.

Once fully operational, the train is expected to run low-speed sightseeing services between Pingshan Street and Hunchun Middle Street. The route links scenic spots along the Beishan Mountain-Xuantian Ridge-Taoyuan Mountain corridor.

The project aims to offer visitors a slow-paced travel experience along the historic Jihai Railway Heritage Park, combining industrial heritage with urban tourism. It is set to become the country's first hydrogen-powered tourism train to enter commercial operation.

Beyond tourism, the project creates a closed-loop application scenario covering hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and use. It will provide operational data and validation scenarios for Jilin province's hydrogen industry, serving as a model for diversified applications and full-chain development across the province.
