Zhou Bo, a senior fellow at Tsinghua University's Center for International Security and Strategy, said "wrecking-ball politics" describes the actions of United States President Donald Trump's administration, and warned transatlantic ties have been fundamentally damaged and are unlikely to return to their previous state. His remarks came as the 2026 Munich Security Report, released on Monday, warned the world has entered an era of "wrecking-ball politics".
