Diplomats from nine countries gathered in Tianjin from?Feb?3?to?4?for a cultural exchange event celebrating the?upcoming Spring Festival.
Fifteen envoys and guests from Greece, Mongolia, Turkiye, the Netherlands, Colombia, Argentina, Croatia, South Korea and Singapore explored the city's rich heritage and modern achievements.
At the Tianjin Ancient Cultural Street, they admired traditional crafts such as clay figurines, Tianjin clapper talk and drum performances. Evgenios Kalpyris, ambassador of Greece to China,?praised Tianjin for blending historical depth with modern vitality.
At the Guangdong Guild Hall, guests enjoyed tea, sampled Peking Opera costumes and exchanged new year greetings in Chinese. In Yangliuqing Ancient Town, festive lanterns and woodblock new year prints highlighted shared Asian traditions.
The delegation also visited the Luban Workshop Experience Center at Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College, where they learned about China's international vocational education cooperation. At Tianjin Port's smart zero-carbon terminal, the diplomats were impressed by automated operations and green development practices.
The event showcased Tianjin's cultural charm and innovation-driven growth strategy, strengthening people-to-people ties and opening new avenues for international cooperation.
