Dreame partnership hailed as sign of China's new economic era
Technology-driven manufacturing as a core engine of economic transformation is becoming increasingly evident in China, according to Mohamed Noureldin, an Egyptian national who completed his master's program, doctor's degree and post-doctoral research at Hefei's University of Science and Technology of China.
He said that "from artificial intelligence to cloud computing, China is now a leader in innovation".
Noureldin, who was attending the 2026 CMG Spring Festival Gala, said general robotics and smart home technology have become increasingly significant in global technological competition, with innovation in consumer-facing applications now carrying strategic weight comparable to traditional high-tech sectors.
Dreame Technology featured at the 2026 CMG Spring Festival Gala as the event's first "Strategic Partner for Intelligent Technology Ecosystem", bringing a full-scenario smart home solutions to China's most-watched television program.
The partnership in what is the opening year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) is interpreted by industry observers as a marker of broader policy emphasis on new quality productive forces — innovation-led, systems-based industrial capabilities increasingly central to high-quality economic development.
Noureldin says that the evolution of the gala partnerships over the past four decades has tracked China's economic restructuring, moving from traditional consumer brands to internet platforms and now to hard technology ecosystems, adding that Dreame's participation reflects this structural shift toward advanced manufacturing and integrated technology solutions.
Meng Jia, president of Dreame's Robotic Vacuum Division, described the showcase as representing "intelligent living solutions validated across global markets".
The company's smart ecosystem, which spans mobility, home appliances, cleaning devices and entertainment systems, was woven into CMG Spring Festival Gala including songs, dances, sketches and magic shows.
Dreame now operates in over 120 countries with more than 6,500 retail locations, serving 42 million households worldwide. The company has extended its technology platform — built on high-speed digital motors, intelligent algorithms and bionic robotic arms — into major appliance categories, including refrigeration, robotic vacuum cleaners, and laundry systems.
"Dreame's national platform appearance suggests ecosystem-level capabilities are gaining policy-level recognition in China's technology strategy," Noureldin said.
