Shanxi Medical University and the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom have received approval to establish the Shanxi Medical University-Wolverhampton International Health Institute, marking the first Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution in Shanxi province since 2003 that is not an independent legal entity.

The newly founded institute will initially offer two undergraduate programs in Public Health Management and Rehabilitation Therapy, as well as two master's programs in Public Health and Nursing.

A "3+1" dual-degree model will be implemented for undergraduate education, with students completing their core courses at Shanxi Medical University during the first three years, then studying at the University of Wolverhampton in their final year. Upon fulfilling the graduation and degree requirements of both institutions, students will receive certificates from both universities.

For the master's programs, students will study entirely at Shanxi Medical University, with the curriculum incorporating high-quality courses and faculty resources from the University of Wolverhampton. Students who meet the graduation and degree requirements will receive master's degree certificates from both universities.
