Chinese Paralympic alpine skier Liu Sitong secured her second individual bronze medal on Monday, contributing to the nation's 17th medal on the third day of the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Paralympics.

Liu, who claimed bronze in the women's downhill sitting event on day one, added another bronze in the women's Super-G sitting event. Alpine skiing features five disciplines. The downhill and super-G emphasize speed on longer courses with fewer turns, while slalom and giant slalom are more technical, involving sharper turns and more gates. The fifth event, the alpine combined, pairs two athletes of the same gender competing in two disciplines, typically one speed event and one technical event.

At the Tofane Alpine Skiing Center in Cortina, Liu completed the race with a time of 1 minute and 24.91 seconds, finishing 7.09 seconds behind champion Audrey Seco Pascual of Spain. Her teammate Zhu Wenjing finished fifth in the women's Super-G standing category and Guo Jiaxin was positioned at 12th.

"Whether or not we stand on the podium, I believe our primary goal here is to demonstrate an indomitable and courageous spirit," Liu said. "Alpine skiing is deeply challenging and thrilling, and you never know what will happen until you ski down."

China now tops the medal table with eight golds, five silvers, and four bronzes.
