China holds clear advantages in artificial intelligence development, particularly in application scenarios and market scale, which could accelerate breakthroughs in key technologies,?said Qi Xiangdong, chairman of Qi-Anxin Technology Group.

Qi, who is also a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said China's rich AI application scenarios, large economy and massive population provide strong support for the growth of the digital economy and the development of artificial intelligence.

"AI development requires data and strong support from the digital economy, and China already possesses these conditions," he told China Perspective during an exclusive interview.

Qi noted that recent developments suggest China and the United States are emerging as global leaders in artificial intelligence.

Against this backdrop, he said China should remain confident and continue strengthening innovation in areas where it holds advantages.

Looking forward, Qi said he believes demand, application scenarios and real-world deployment will accelerate breakthroughs in bottleneck technologies.

While breakthroughs in some AI-related core technologies remain challenging, China's rapidly expanding AI application market is creating strong momentum that could attract more capital into key technological research, he added.

"Breaking through bottleneck technologies is ultimately a matter of time," Qi said. "The timeline depends on the scale of resources and investment. As long as the market remains strong and investment continues to grow, breakthroughs will come faster."
