Kitila Alexander Mkumbo, minister of State in the President's Office responsible for Planning and Investment in Tanzania, led an economic and trade exchange delegation to visit Nantong, Jiangsu province, on March 18 for an investment promotion conference.
During the conference, both Nantong and Tanzania showcased their respective economic, trade, and development environments. They expressed a shared commitment to leveraging the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative as a platform to further expand cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, cultural tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Nantong will continue to expand its high-level opening-up by creating a top-tier business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and international. With better policies, an improved environment, and more effective services, the city aims to safeguard enterprise development and foster win-win international cooperation.
In recent years, Nantong has drawn on the federations of industry and commerce, along with its network of Nantong entrepreneurs, to deepen friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation with Tanzania and other African countries. This collaboration has yielded fruitful results in areas such as industrial investment, joint project development, and medical assistance, serving as a vivid example of the friendly cooperation between China and Africa.
