After nearly 50 years, Robert, a journalist from London, returns to Dali. In 1977, the town was a quiet farming village with bicycles drifting through lanes. Today, Dali thrives, yet the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple still stand tall and Erhai Lake sunsets remain breathtaking. Robert says the essence of the real China lies in this timeless scenery and local life. He believes more Westerners will fall in love with Dali’s charm.
