Science: Academies to hold conference

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering
(CAE) announced here on Sunday that they will jointly organize a national
conference of members from June 5 to 8 in Beijing.
Shen Baogen,
vice-secretary general of the CAS, said the CAS was planning to revise its
constitution at the conference, elect new leadership for its academic divisions,
and elect the seventh batch of its foreign associates.
The CAS will also
organize 14 academic workshops that are expected to be attended by 47 CAS
members.
