PetroChina begins offering National IV diesel in BeijingBy ()
Updated: 2007-04-30 16:02 Some PetroChina Co Ltd outlets in Beijing are now offering diesel compliant with the National IV standard, according to parent China National Petroleum Corp. Beijing requires auto fuel to conform to National IV standards - equivalent to the Euro IV standard used in the European Union - before the Olympic Games in 2008. The sulfur content in diesel will be cut to 50 parts per million from 350 ppm in the National III standard. China's revised fuel standard will lead to the withdrawal from the market of fuel with sulfur levels of up to 500 ppm on December 31, 2009. (For more biz stories, please visit Industry Updates)
