Sinopec's crude oil, natural gas output up slightly in 2008

Asia's largest refiner Sinopec Group said Tuesday that it produced 41.8 million tons of crude oil in 2008, up 1.8 percent from a year earlier.

The Beijing-based company produced 8.26 billion cu m of natural gas last year, an increase of 3.3 percent from 2007.

Sinopec said it added 298 million tons of proven geological oil reserves in 2008, with recoverable reserves of 45.5 million tons.

The company's discoveries of proven natural gas deposits totaled 53.9 billion cu m and recoverable reserves were 30.8 billion cu m.
