Shares open higher on April economic data optimism

Chinese shares opened higher on Monday ahead of the release of the economic data for April, which was expected to show further signs of recovery.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.79 percent higher to 2,646.29. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.64 percent to 10,248.52 at the opening.
