2m new investors flock to stock market in July

As many as 2 million new stock-trading accounts were opened in July, up from 1.63 million in June, the Shanghai Securities News reported today. That is the most opened in a month this year, and is the highest on record in a month since Febrary 2008.

As of the end of last week, there were 132.99 million total stock-trading accounts on China's two trading boards. Roughly 112.8 million of them currently trade stocks.
