China stocks close up Tuesday

BEIJING - Chinese shares closed up Tuesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.65 percent to close at 2,875.86, up 18.68 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed up 1.89 percent, or 234.21 points, to end at 12,657.00.
Combined turnover was 206.78 billion yuan ($31.1 billion), slightly higher than the 203.93 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Gainers outnumbered losers by 691 to 192 in Shanghai and 1,013 to 182 in Shenzhen.
