China stocks close up Wednesday

BEIJING - Chinese shares closed higher Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 24.95 points, or 0.86 percent, to end at 2,924.19.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.36 percent, or 173.30 points, to finish at 12,884.87 points.
Gainers outnumbered losers by 817 to 103 in Shanghai and 1,121 to 137 in Shenzhen.
