Gold price opens lower in Hong Kong -- May 18

HONG KONG -- The gold price in Hong Kong went down HK$68 to open at HK$13,805 per tael on Wednesday, according to the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society.

The price is equivalent to $1,490.44 a troy ounce, down $6.77 at the latest exchange rate of one US dollar against HK$7.775.
