BEIJING - China's express delivery industry is rushing to deliver mails, goods, or even a promising future for the sector itself in the coming years, according to the State Post Bureau of China on Sunday.

Chinese who are increasingly interested to go shopping online will push forward the express delivery industry to more than double its revenue to more than 143 billion yuan ($22.7 billlion) by 2015, with an average annual growth of 20 percent, the bureau said in the 12th five-year (2011-2015) plan for the industry on its website.

More than 6.1 billion deliveries will be made by 2015, representing an annual growth of 21 percent in volume on average, according to the bureau.

By then, the express delivery industry will create more than 350,000 new jobs for the country and hire a total of 1 million employees, said the bureau.

The bureau's statistics showed the the express delivery industry posted a revenue of 57.5 billion yuan in 2010 when the 11th five-year plan period ended.
