Last week Audi launched the new A5 family on the Chinese market with three body types - sportback, coupe and the cabriolet - at prices ranging from 499,800 yuan to 660,000 yuan.

 

The new A5 sportback and coupe are available with 2.0-liter or a 3.0-liter TFSI engines. The quattro four-wheel drive system and seven-speed S-tronic transmission are optional on the 2.0-liter version and standard with the 3.0-liter model.

 

The quattro drive system and S-tronic are also optional on the A5 cabriolet that comes equipped with a 2.0 TFSI engine.

 

At the launch ceremony Audi also introduced its new S5, a high-performance variant of the A5, also in three body types.

 

The S5 sportback, coupe and cabriolet sell from 728,000 to 858,000 yuan.

 

All carry the high-power 3.0 TFSI V6 engine that lowers average fuel consumption by 20 percent to only 8.1 liters per 100 km, compared with the 4.2-liter V8 engine in the previous S5.

 

Performance is not sacrificed with the smaller displacement engine as the S5 coupe can accelerate from zero to 100 km in just 4.9 seconds.
