A research center for innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital was unveiled at Tongji University's School of Economics and Management (SEM) on Sunday, and it plans to release its first index regarding these three aspects early next year.

The center's team of experts comprises two world-renowned professors as well as 12 top Chinese scholars.

"A new eco-system will be formed from the connection between innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital," said Li Yuan, dean of the Tongji University's School of Economics and Management.

The innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital index is scheduled for release next April or May, and it will be the first of its kind to connect the three aspects and provide a comprehensive view of these three aspects for policy-makers, industrial insiders, scholars and educators, added Li.
