Ford Escort Concept
Making its world debut at the Auto Shanghai, the Ford Escort Concept model is intended to provide more variants for Chinese customers in the compact saloon segment.
Specifically designed for the country, its production model is likely to go on sale in 2014.
Currently, Ford has two classic models in the compact segment, including the Focus. However, the Escort is mainly targeted at those customers who favor a spacious interior and practicality, while the Focus is marketed toward those who pursue driving pleasure and innovative technologies.
The model also showcases Ford's all-new global design language, which features more-vertical grilles as well as long, slim and sharp headlights,
The model is part of Ford's ambitious Chinese strategy to introduce 15 new vehicles to the market by 2015.
