Shields and Holmes become best friends
Despite her public battle with Tom Cruise over the use of antidepressants, Brooke Shields has become close friends with his fiancee Katie Holmes.
Cruise slammed Shields for using medication to treat her postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter Rowan, but apologized to the actress in August for his comments.
The two new mothers both gave birth on April 18 at the same Los Angeles Hospital--Shields gave birth to second daughter Grier, while Holmes gave birth to daughter Suri.
Shields tells entertainment show Access Hollywood that they are "absolutely" friends.
The two actresses share a love of hit TV show Grey's Anatomy and even watched the series' September premiere together in Shields' living room.
Shields adds, "You never know how life is going to bring people together."
