The trip is part of the joint celebration of the traditional Lantern Festival between residents in Mawei and Mazu. Chen Wenlong was a senior official of the South Song Dynasty (1172-1279), who led a fight against invading Mongolian troops. He was later regarded as a sea god by the people in Fujian and Taiwan.
