Robber flees city after giving victim his own ID

A robber learned a lesson the hard way after he accidentally gave his own identification card to the victim, forcing the robber to flee his home city of Haining, Zhejiang province. Two robbers named Pan and Fan robbed a man named Xu in the street in May 2002 of his cell phone and 40 yuan. But Pan decided to give Xu's ID card and driver's licence back to the victim, only he gave Xu his own ID card. When Pan realized the mistake, he fled the city for fear that Xu would report the robbery to the police. Pan surrendered to the police three years later. Fan was captured by Beijing police in March this year. (Youth Times) |
