1,000 affected by burst water pipe

GUIYANG,GUANGXI: A main water pipe in Guiyang city, Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region blasted early Thursday morning, blocking the road and affecting over 1,000 nearby residents' water supply. Rescuers are still continuing to fix the damage and water supply is estimated to return to normal at 8:00 pm today.

This is a second time since July 13 that a pipe has broken in Guiyang. Water supply officials claims the consecutive cases are both related to its aged supply system and the recent heavy rainfall.
