Zheng Yuanjie, a well-known Chinese writer, expresses his opinion in his micro blog that the ongoing two sessions should set an example for low carbon solutions, and suggests that attendees of the NPC and CPPCC?sessions should take the subway to attend the meetings.

Zheng says the annual enforcement of traffic controls to make way for the session attendees results in a slowdown of the vehicles owned by the common people, which leads to the increase of carbon emissions.
