KUNMING - A total of 126 primary school students in Southwest China's Yunnan province were hospitalized on Friday with suspected food poisoning, according to local authorities.

The students at Ale Primary School in Luxi county began to suffer headaches, vomiting and diarrhea around 7:50 am after having their breakfast at school, said a spokesman with the publicity department of the county committee of the Communist Party of China.

The sickened children are being treated at the Luxi County People's Hospital and are all in stable conditions, added the spokesman.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
