SHIJIAZHUANG - Three people have been killed and five others injured by gas leak in a steel plant in North China's Hebei province, local authorities told Xinhua Friday.
The accident happened at about 9:30 pm Thursday at Puyang Steel Co., Ltd. in the city of Wuan, according to sources with the municipal government.
Gas leaked from a stove under overhaul, leaving eight people poisoned. Three of them died in hospital.
Local authorities have set up a team to investigate the accident.
