A deputy to the People's Congress in Jiangmen city, Guangdong province, was detained on July 18 after he allegedly committed indecent acts in front of two teenage girls and attempted to rape them in hotel rooms, according to a police statement.

Huang Baolin, 50, has admitted his crimes, said a statement on the website of the city's public security bureau on Thursday.

Huang allegedly asked the two girls to help him masturbate four times after he brought them to hotel rooms in Taishan and Zhuhai in June and July, according to the statement.

The two girls, aged 15 and 13, are classmates in a junior high school in Jiangmen.
