Kindergartens in Beijing have taken measures to enhance the control of medicine taking by students, Beijing Youth Daily reported on Thursday.

A number of kindergartens in the city announced recently that parents who provide medicines for their children to take while at the kindergartens should also provide prescriptions from doctors for the medicines, otherwise the medicines will not be given to the students.

In the past few weeks, cases were exposed in Xi'an and Lanzhou cities in which some kindergartens gave unauthorized prescription drugs to students for economic gain, and the kindergartens involved were punished by local governments.
