Bottled water and dedicated app
CPPCC members from around the nation began arriving in Beijing on Sunday, settling into the various guesthouses in the capital.
The guesthouses, amid the national anti-graft campaign, are practicing frugality. The numbers of available disposable toothbrushes and soap bars have decreased and the free drink service is limited to boiled and ice water. Bottled water is no longer "on the house".
The CPPCC has developed an exclusive smartphone app for its members to talk with each other. The app requires ID and phone number verification to install.
