Dr Yuan Zhou received a doctorate from Bristol University, master's degree from Missouri school of journalism and dual bachelor's degree from Fudan University. He held various managerial positions when he worked for the Singapore Press Holdings. In 2002, he was appointed as the director of the journalism department of Shantou University.
