The Shanghai International ContemporaryTheater Festivalwill bring over a dozen shows from Asia, Europe and North America to the city this year. The annual global theater festival was founded by the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre in 2005.

Highlights include dance drama Unbound, produced by Wenwei Wang from Canada. It reflects the former practice of binding women's feet in pursuit of higher status and impossible erotic ideals.

Floating Brothel is an American theatrical production following the stories of three women.

My Garden narrates the story of a man who leaves his girlfriend to pursue his dreams.

Exhibitions

The exhibition features 57 oil paintings, along with a collection of prints, sketches and sculptures. All works focus onrevolutionary subjectsdating from 1939 to 2003.
