At least two Air China fights from Beijing to Europe were canceled and one was delayed on Sunday because of a new wave of dense volcanic ash.

The airline's Beijing-to-Paris, Beijing-to-Rome and Madrid-to-Sao Paulo flights and their returns had been canceled by 10:30 am on Mother's Day, according to a note on the Air China website.

The note also said the flight on Sunday from Beijing to Madrid was delayed 24 hours, until 1 am on Monday.
