Iran seeks talks for nuclear program

BEIJING - Iran threw out preconditions for restarting talks with six major powers over its nuclear energy program on Sunday, a move described by analysts as a positive development.

Despite Teheran's comprise in the face of mounting international pressure, however, the future remains unclear as the parties involved lack sufficient common ground for negotiations.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, for his part, said the West must clarify its commitment to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regulations, and state their views on nuclear weapons in Israel, according Xinhua News Agency.
