Mother held over sons' deaths
Prosecutors in northern Poland were questioning a woman on Wednesday who was suspected of killing her three newborn boys whose bodies were found in the family's freezer. A Police spokesman said that the woman, identified as 41-year-old Lucyna D. from the northern town of Lubawa, has confessed to killing the infants.

Student charged with stabbings
A student who told police he'd fantasized for years about stabbing people to death was charged on Tuesday with carrying out a building-to-building attack at a Texas community college that wounded at least 14 people, many of whom were stabbed in the face and neck. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said 20-year-old Dylan Quick used a razor-type knife.

2 plead guilty to terror plot
Two men accused of planning an al-Qaida-inspired terrorist attack intended to be bigger than the 2005 London transit bombings have pleaded guilty in a London court. Mohammed Rizwan and Bahader Ali on Wednesday admitted engaging in conduct in preparation of acts of terrorism.

Policeman killed guarding staff
Gunmen shot to death a policeman protecting a team of female polio workers in northwestern Pakistan on Wednesday, the latest in a series of attacks on people working on the UN-backed vaccination campaign, police said. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but suspicion has fallen on Islamic militants.
