"Internet celebrities should set an example of protecting people's legal rights and denouncing any activities that harm the reputations and interests of others."

Lu Wei, director of the State Internet Information Office, said at a meeting held in Beijing on Saturday that some Internet celebrities have notable influence on public opinion that could be used to deliver positive and constructive messages to Chinese netizens. The government urged these celebrities to uphold law and order and to promote virtues and trust, Lu said.
