By Cao Yin | China Daily | Updated: 2014-04-30 07:32

Convicted officials will find it more difficult to have sentences commuted

Officials serving time for crimes committed while on duty will find it hard to get parole or have their sentences reduced in the future, according to an official from China's top court.

The Supreme People's Court issued a judicial interpretation on Tuesday, laying down tougher rules and specific procedures on how to deal with cases related to assigning commuting sentences and parole.
