By Agencies in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | China Daily | Updated: 2015-09-15 08:22

A Pakistani and two Malaysians have been detained in connection with last month's bombing of a shrine in Bangkok that killed 20 people, the national police chief said on Monday.

Later on Monday, police said a key suspect in the bombing has fled to Turkey.

Inspector General Khalid Abu Bakar said the three were taken into custody a few days ago following a tip-off from Thai authorities. He said one of the Malaysians is a woman.
