Military action against Iran not option "at this point" - Rice

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Thursday that the United States did not put military action against Iran on its agenda "at this point" to stop its nuclear program.

"The president of the United States never takes any of his options off the table and nobody would want the president to do that," Rice told the CBS Evening News.

"We are on a diplomatic track and it's not on the agenda at this point to move from that diplomatic track," she added.

The top U.S. diplomat made the remarks after Germany, France and Britain decided to ask the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to bring Iran before the United Nations Security Council to face possible sanctions for resuming enrichment-related activities.

Washington has been accusing Iran of secretly developing nuclear weapons, but Iran slams the charge as politically motivated, insisting that its legal rights on peaceful nuclear technology are undeniable.
