報(bào)道中的warm-up match就是體育界常提及的"熱身賽"，可簡寫為warm-up，由動(dòng)詞詞組warm up衍變而來。Warm up原指運(yùn)動(dòng)員上場前"先熱熱身，做一下準(zhǔn)備活動(dòng)"，如：The crowd waited patiently while the teams warmed up（雙方隊(duì)員在做準(zhǔn)備活動(dòng)時(shí)，人群在耐心等待）。由此，我們還可得到另外一個(gè)句子，The singers are warming up before the concert（歌手們在音樂會(huì)開始前一直在排練）。
此外，warm up本意是"加溫，使暖和"，所以這個(gè)動(dòng)詞詞組還可引申為"使氣氛活躍"；因此，名詞詞組warm-up也可用來指人們冬天穿的"保暖衣"。
