Dr. Patrick HO Chi Ping was Professor of Ophthalmology at the Hong Kong Chinese University from 1984 to 1994. Since 1993, Dr. Ho has been a member of the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th (National) Chinese People’s Political Consultative Committee. He was a member of the Urban Council, and the vice-Chairman of Hong Kong Policy Research Institute. From2002 to 2007, he joined the Hong Kong SAR Government as a Cabinet Member and the Secretary for Home Affairs with a policy portfolio ranging from district administration to overall liaison with the civil society. Dr. Ho has been one of the Directors of the National Association of Study on Hong Kong and Macau since 2013. In July 2014, he was invited by Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations, to serve on his High-level Advisory Group on Sustainable Transport.
