A food fiesta, highlighting 12 local characteristic delicacies, kicked off in the Songkou town, Yongtai county, Fujian province on March 4.

The event, usually held to celebrate the arrival of spring by locals, attracted numerous visitors nearby to come and attend.

In addition to alluring food, a dazzling array of local folk cultural performances were also staged on the event sidelines, such as lion dance and martial performance named "Huzunquan".

According to local tourism authorities, the event is designed to be an integral attraction for the county to beckon more visitors across the country. On top of the food fesita, the county still renowned for various flower blossoms, springs as well as folk art buildings.
