WHO removes Beijing from SARS list, lifts travel advisory ( 2003-06-24 15:47) (Xinhua)
Shigeru Omi, WHO regional director for the western Pacific region,
announces Tuesday that World Health Organization has lifted travel
advisory on Beijing June 24, 2003. Omi said the decision was
based on consideration of factors including the number of current SARS
cases, quality of surveillance measures and the effectiveness of
prevention measures.[Xinhua]
